New Apple iPhone has reception problems
Apple has recently acknowledged that its new iPhone 4 is riddled with flaws. The biggest complaint users note is the phone’s antenna issues. Apparently, when the phone is held a certain way, signal strength can drop significantly as a result of finger-contact with the phone’s outer band. In fact, in some cases users have experienced signal strength drops from 5 bars down to 1. The problem seems to mostly affect left handed users. According to Apple, the metal band that surrounds the outer perimeter of the phone, is affected by fingers which alters the phones reception capabilities.
At first, Apple refused to acknowledge that reception was an issue; in fact Steve Jobs told users just to hold the phone differently and they would be fine. However, they recently they have released a ‘bumper case’ which covers the outer band, which seems to have fixed any reception issues. The company is giving these bands out for free to anyone who purchased an iPhone 4. There’s only one problem though. When visiting the company’s website they are listed as ‘unavailable’, which could further ignite consumer distaste with the company.
Reception hasn’t been the only problem. Some consumers have reported receiving phones that have discolored screens including yellowing in the bottom right corner. In addition, some users have stated the phone is too fragile. One user in particular, claims she dropped the phone a foot up from the floor, and the glass backing shattered. It seems as though Apple’s brand renowned for quality and reliability is being shattered as well, although time will tell.
Getting iPhone 4 cases will help solve the reception problem and purchasing iPhone skins will help provide stylish designs to supplement your iPhone cases.New Apple iPhone has reception problems
